White Tailed Sea Eagles

On a warm summer's morning, we embarked on a road trip from the Moray coast to the Isle of Mull. Three car loads of photographers set off to meet our booking with the fantastic guys at Mull Charters, Martin & Alex Kievers .
The Isle of Mull, located off the western coast of Scotland, is renowned for its captivating wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. Among the island's majestic inhabitants, one stands out—the white-tailed eagle. These magnificent birds, also known as Sea Eagles or "flying barn doors," are the largest birds of prey in the United Kingdom.
White-tailed eagles have a wingspan that can reach up to eight feet, allowing them to soar gracefully through the skies above Mull's rugged coastline and expansive lochs. Their plumage is a striking blend of dark brown and white, accentuated by a distinctive hooked beak and piercing yellow eyes.
To catch a glimpse of these awe-inspiring creatures, many visitors to Mull embark on boat trips or guided wildlife tours. These excursions offer a chance to witness the white-tailed eagles in their natural habitat, soaring high above the island's cliffs or swooping down to snatch fish from the surrounding waters. The sight of these majestic birds in flight is truly a spectacle to behold.
We did a private charter with the guys at www.mullcharters.com but they have other options to cater to your wildlife photography interests and I can highly recommend sailing with them.
